my bio

Born into a military family in 1972, Paul Jon Boscacci was definitely not meant to be a military man. He was – from an early age – a rebel. A boy not like the other boys – a boy who took risks, a boy who ate paste, a boy who fell off the slide and fractured his buttocks, a boy who wanted to be a cartoonist.

Paul Jon’s first award was at Children’s Fairyland in Oakland, California. He won a hair pick and sweatbands for his rendering of his brother being attacked by a goat in the petting zoo. Soon after, his first published work appeared in Boys Life magazine at age 12. Sadly, this did not open the doors to endless wealth and women that he had hoped for and he found himself drawing comics for a weekly newspaper during high school.

In college, he discovered political cartooning and received death threats from many different sources including the Kappa Sigma fraternity, professors, the Marriott Food Service, and a few ex-girlfriends with no senses of humor. After college, he wandered into the world working for media companies, ad agencies and other scary corporate entities as an illustrator and creative director. His published cartoon work includes “King Zack” for Knight-Ridder and “Offline” for CMP Media and other paying sites. You can’t miss him in public. Just look for the guy without the pants.
